Euphemia Haye was established in 1975 as a dining establishment that combined a warm, friendly ambiance with outstanding service and an imaginative menu that used only the finest foods available. After 35 years, we are still doing what we do best – continuing to be the top of all Longboat Key restaurants and pleasing our customers night after night. The restaurant’s original concept has been a hit with locals and visitors alike, so we carry on keeping our menu inventive, our service impeccable and our atmosphere cozy and intimate.
The Haye Loft lounge and dessert bar offers visitors with an upscale atmosphere, live music and top shelf liquors that they so desire, on a first come first served basis. It is truly a classic and the most-sought after destination of all Longboat Key bars.
The restaurant is lovingly owned and operated by Executive Chef Raymond Arpke and his wife D’Arcy Arpke, the restaurant operations director. Chef Ray has a very unique personal and culinary history; he specializes in international and contemporary dishes which reflect his individual creative skills. He teaches popular cooking classes at the restaurant called “Lesson Luncheons” that have continuously been sold out since 1997. He is also a favorite guest on local TV shows and at food festivals.
Co-owner and restaurant operations director D’Arcy Arpke has a formal background in Liberal Arts and Business. She has hotel, catering, and restaurant experience, along with management of a local gourmet and cooking shop. The Arpkes regularly travel to wineries and wine events to find new selections to add to the restaurant’s extensive wine cellar. They also attend fine food and wine seminars. As well, the Arpke’s are dedicated to their community and partake in many outside fund-raising events.
